The study presents the today’s state of Slovak dialect through functional layers of language with special regard to faetures of linguistic image of world in the extended context of intellectual culture. It shows the antecedents of bilingualism and loss of language of Slovaks in Hungary, the reasons of forcing back of Slovak native language, the consequences of loss of prestige of native language. The oldest layer of linguistic image of world is the world of belief, native religiousness and special field of religious holidays.The recent layers of lingustic image of world appears mostly in the vocabulary of traditional nutrition and trades. The names and specially the system of geographical names create the most particular layer of linguistic image of world of Slovaks in Bükkszentkereszt. The specific layers of language of Slovaks’ in Bükkszentkereszt mediate an image of world in individual language which is in contact with the language of majority nation but its speciality comes from the existence of Slovak language which contains their own and the ancestors’ experiences of life. |
